Daily Word
Five letters, six tries, one word for everyone that day. It is the easiest family group chat starter we know: share your grid of coloured squares and let the cousins argue about whether starting with a vowel is cheating.
A note from the MerryArcade table. A new pick every day.

Welcome to the MerryArcade club
What MerryArcade is
MerryArcade is a free games club you open in your browser. There is nothing to install and no account to make. Every game here was made by our own small studio, from Cribbage and Gin Rummy to the daily five-letter word, mini crossword and a full set of logic puzzles. Your favourites and recent games are remembered on your own device, so the club feels like yours from the second visit.
Who it is for
We make these games for families, and especially for the people who grew up with a deck of cards on the kitchen table. Text is large, buttons are easy to tap and rules are explained on every game page. Grandparents, parents and children can all find something here, and plenty of games work well with two people sharing one screen and taking turns.
How to pick a game
If you have five minutes, try a word game or a single Sudoku. If you have the afternoon, settle in at the Sunday card table. Playing with a youngster? Start with Memory Match, Snakes & Ladders or Go Fish. Every game page has a Quick start box, a longer guide and our family tips, so you will never be left guessing at the rules.
Why we make these
Most of these games are older than any of us. They have been played at holidays, in hospital waiting rooms and on long train rides for generations. We want them to stay easy to reach: quick to load, fair to play and free. Advertising keeps the lights on, and we test every game on phones before it reaches you.
