About Slide Out
The sliding-block puzzle known as Rush Hour. The red block is stuck; other blocks jam its path to the exit. Slide them out of the way -- each only moves along its own line -- to open a lane and escape. Levels are generated and solver-verified so every jam is winnable, and the move count keeps you chasing efficiency. Free to play in your browser — no download, no sign-up.
How to Play
Drag a block along its length -- horizontal blocks move left/right, vertical ones up/down. Blocks can't pass through each other. Clear the row so the red block can slide out the right-hand exit.
Tips & Strategy
Work backwards from the exit: figure out which blocks sit directly in the red car's lane, and free those first.
Don't shuffle blocks aimlessly -- every move should either clear the target lane or make room for a block that does.
A block you move to make space often becomes the next obstacle. Look one step ahead so you don't trap yourself.
When truly stuck, note which block hasn't moved at all; the solution frequently hinges on the one you've been ignoring.
