Math Grid

Fill the grid so each cage hits its target -- KenKen-style logic.

About Math Grid

A number puzzle that marries Sudoku with arithmetic. Fill the grid so every row and column uses each number once, and every outlined cage reaches its target using the shown operation. It scales from a friendly 4x4 to a brain-bending 6x6, and every puzzle has exactly one solution reachable by pure logic. Free to play in your browser — no download, no sign-up.

How to Play

Fill so each row and column contains 1 to N with no repeats. Each outlined cage must reach its target number using the shown operation. A single-cell cage just holds that number. Solve the whole grid.

Tips & Strategy

Start with the single-cell cages -- they're free givens -- and any cage whose target forces its digits (a two-cell x12 in a 4x4 must be 3 and 4).

Use row/column logic like Sudoku alongside the cages; each constrains the other.

For subtraction and division cages, list the small number of value pairs that work, then eliminate with the row/column rule.

Pencil the possibilities for a cage mentally before you commit -- the arithmetic usually narrows two cells to one option fast.
