About Picture Cross
Also called nonograms or Picross: a pure logic puzzle where numbers along each row and column tell you the runs of filled squares. Deduce which cells to fill and which to cross out, and a hidden picture emerges. No guessing needed -- every square can be reasoned out. Three sizes from a quick 5x5 to a meaty 15x15. Free to play in your browser — no download, no sign-up.
How to Play
The numbers on each row and column list the lengths of filled runs, in order. Fill squares that must be filled; mark the ones that must be empty. Solve the whole grid to reveal the picture. Three mistakes ends it.
Tips & Strategy
Start with the biggest clues. A run that's longer than half the line has cells that are filled no matter where it sits -- mark those first.
Work rows and columns together: filling one square in a row often forces a deduction in the crossing column.
Use the mark (X) tool aggressively. Knowing where squares CAN'T be is as powerful as knowing where they are.
Never guess -- with three lives, a coin-flip is expensive. If you're stuck, there's always another line with a certain move.
