About Spades
A partnership bidding game and one of the most popular card games in the world. You and your partner predict how many tricks you will take, then try to hit that number exactly -- overshoot and the bags pile up until they cost you 100 points. How to Play
Bid the number of tricks you expect to win; your bids combine with your partner's. Follow suit if you can -- spades beat everything else and can only be led once broken. Make your combined bid to score. Ten bags (overtricks) costs 100 points. First to 250 wins.
Tips & Strategy
Count winners, not hopes: an Ace is almost always a trick, a King usually, and every spade above the opponents' is money. Bid what you can actually take.
A Nil bid is worth 100 but needs a hand with no high cards and short, weak suits. Your partner should cover you by keeping their high cards ready.
Don't waste high spades early -- hold them to trump the suits you're void in.
Watch the bag count. When you're near ten, deliberately take fewer overtricks even if it means ducking a trick you could win.
