Trap your rival's discs between two of yours to flip them, and own the most squares at the end.
Quick start
You play black and move first. Tap a highlighted square to place a disc. Every white line trapped between your new disc and another black disc turns black. With no legal move you pass. The game ends when neither player can move. Most discs wins. Your record of wins, losses and draws is saved.

About this game
A simple idea that can take a lifetime to master: two colours, one board, and a lead that can swing in a single move. You play black against the computer's white on an eight-by-eight board. Place a disc so that one or more straight lines of white discs are sandwiched between it and another black disc, and every disc in those lines flips to your colour. Lines run across, down and diagonally. If you have no flipping move, you pass. When neither side can move, whoever has more discs wins. Choose Easy, Medium or Hard. Free to play in your browser, with no download and no sign-up.
Family tips
Corners are the prize. A disc in a corner can never be flipped, and it lets you build edges that are just as safe. That is why the squares touching a corner, above all the diagonal one, are risky early on: a disc there often gives that corner away.
Resist greed in the middle game. Flipping a crowd of discs looks good on the counter but usually gives the other side more places to move. Prefer quiet moves that turn only a few discs and leave your opponent with poor choices. The fewer options they have, the sooner they must give you an edge or a corner.
Start counting near the end. In the last dozen or so moves the disc total finally matters, and a single edge can swing a whole row at once. On Hard the computer looks several moves ahead and prizes corners, so guard the squares near your own corners and make it pay for every edge.
