About this game
A five-by-five panel of little lights, some glowing and some dark, and one simple wish: turn them all off. The catch is that every tap toggles not only the square you touch but also its neighbours above, below, left and right. Switch one off and you may well switch two others on. Each level is scrambled from a dark board, so there is always a way back, and the par number tells you how many taps were used to scramble it, a fine target to aim for. Levels get trickier as you climb, with longer and more tangled solutions. Free to play in your browser, with no download and no sign-up.
Family tips
Tapping the same square twice undoes itself, so every square needs to be tapped either once or not at all. That means the order of your taps doesn’t matter, which makes planning far easier.
Try ‘chasing the lights down’. Start at the top and move downward a row at a time: for every lit square in a row, tap the square directly beneath it. When you reach the bottom, only the last row will still have lights on, and that pattern tells you which top-row squares to tap before chasing again.
Look for isolated lights at corners and edges. A corner light can be turned off by tapping itself or one of its two neighbours, and spotting which choice also fixes another light saves you moves toward par.
